On January 1, 2005, Drs. Subedi and Fredericksen took over the practice of retiring physician Dr. Irani in Front Royal, Virginia, and thus realized their dream of starting their own husband-wife medical practice team. Because of the growing need of the community, the practice has recently expanded to include Dr. R Subedi.
Guna R. Subedi MD, FACP
Dr. Subedi was born in the foothills of the Himalayas in the country of Nepal. After graduating from medical school at China Medical University in 1990, Dr. Subedi successfully passed his exams to qualify to continue his training in the United States. Dr. Subedi completed his Internal Medicine Residency Program at New York Hospital Medical Center of Queens (an affiliate of Cornell University Medical School) in 1994. The next two years found Dr. Subedi practicing at Elmhurst Hospital Center, an affiliate of Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Dr. Subedi had the opportunity to provide direct patient care as well as to teach in the residency program. In 1996 Dr. Subedi moved to Fairfax Virginia to join Kaiser Permanente in Falls Church. In 2005, Dr. Subedi and his wife Dr. Fredericksen realized their dream of opening a private practice together, and Shenandoah Medical Associates was born. In his spare time, Dr. Subedi enjoys playing volleyball, bicycling and spending time with his wife and three children.
Judy Subedi Fredericksen, MD
Dr. Fredericksen was born in Poughkeepsie, New York, and grew up in the suburbs of New York City. After graduating from Swarthmore College in 1986, Dr. Fredericksen spent several years in China teaching English. Upon returning to the United States, Dr. Fredericksen attended SUNY Stony Brook School of Medicine and graduated in 1996. She then completed her residency in Family Practice and Fairfax Family Practice Centers in 1999. For the next several years, Dr. Fredericksen worked part time for Inova Medical Group, Kaiser Permanente and then Advent Health Group while raising her young children. In 2005, Dr. Fredericksen and her husband Dr. Subedi established Shenandoah Medical Associates. In her spare time, Dr. Fredericksen enjoys reading, bicycling, hiking and spending time with her husband and children.
Rajesh Subedi, MD
Dr R. Subedi is a graduate of Kathmandu University, Manipal College of Medical Sciences, Nepal. He was trained in Northeastern Universities College of Medicine, St Elizabeth Health Center, Youngstown, OH. He has extensive experience taking care of complicated patients in inpatient and outpatient settings and practiced full spectrum primary care. After graduating from residency program he practiced medicine in North carolina for over five years and joined Dr G Subedi (his uncle) in September 2012. He is married to Dr Nandita Subedi and has one daughter. He is an avid athelet who likes running,biking, hiking among other sports. He has moved to Shenandoah Valley and settled here with a goal to retire from here.
